Ticha reservoir at 93% capacity, irrigation water released
Bulgaria's environment ministry has authorised 2.724 million cubic metres of water from the Ticha reservoir for irrigation use during May. As of 30 April the reservoir stood at 93.33% capacity, holding 291.012 million cubic metres, of which 251.012 million is usable volume.
The ministry has also increased the allocation for drinking water to the towns of Shumen and Veliki Preslav to 2.450 million cubic metres — up from 2.390 million in April. Targovishte's allocation remains at 0.888 million cubic metres.
A further 1.000 million cubic metres has been set aside to maintain minimum flow in the river downstream of the dam. Hydroelectric generation at the Ticha and Mosta plants may resume once the reservoir volume exceeds 260 million cubic metres. Water levels are to be managed without significant fluctuation during the fish breeding season.

Volov-Shumen 2007 win seventh straight, cement fourth place
FC Volov-Shumen 2007 beat Olimpik Varna 2–0 at home in round 29 of the North-East Third League, securing their seventh consecutive victory and consolidating fourth place in the table.
Rumen Nikolov opened the scoring in the 38th minute, heading home a cross from the left by Zlatin Boyanov. The home side sealed the win in the second half when Dimitar Ignatovski laid off to Nikolov, who finished into an empty net from inside the penalty area.
'There were chances to score more goals. The match was in the must-win column, and that's how it turned out. I think logic prevailed. It was a calm match, without much tension. Both teams played good football,' said Ivan Stanchev, president of Volov-Shumen 2007.
In the next round Volov-Shumen will record a forfeit win over Svetkavitsa Targovishte, maintaining at least a three-point cushion over Chernolomets Popovo before the two sides meet on 13 May at 5pm in Shumen.
